Bahamas customs officer support

- GAACS would like to offer to Bahamas Customs a prototype application capable of assisting as a 'front end' to the Bahamas Customs Single Entry System (BESW). The intention is to allow Customs access to a GAACS Database, and provide the tools for them to further develop and support the application.
- A primary duty of a Customs Officer is in inspection of the Package of Goods (PoG). There are many reasons for inspections, the primary being to check for illegal items, but others involve checking values on items the Broker has declared, as well as for correct classification of items showing on Suppliers invoices.
- This proposed GAACS Customs Application provides a way to assist in planning and exercising inspections. This is done by utilizing the data held in the GAACS Database, which holds the source for the information required by the Bahamas Customs Single Entry system (BESW). Officers, able to access the more detailed information available within the GAACS Database, can inspect more thoroughly, and plan inspections ahead of arrival of PoGs entering the Bahamas.

The prototype Customs Application is supported by algorithms embedded in the code. These result in requirements for activity by Officers. New algorithms can be added by your programmers to handle conditions of importance.
